Family Caregiver Education Using the Touch, Caring and Cancer Program

Audience: Physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, pharmacists and others.

Continuing Education Credits:  2 CMEs/CEUs.

This course provides instruction in how to organize and deliver a family caregiver education workshop using the award-winning “Touch, Caring and Cancer” (TCC) instructional program. TCC is featured on the National Cancer Institute’s Research-Tested Intervention Programs (RTIPs) website, and is now available streaming online in five languages (English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish, Vietnamese). The course enables providers to access the streaming version in a live workshop to walk participants through the instruction with live practice. Oncology massage experts provide detailed instruction in safety precautions as well as safe and simple techniques of massage by family caregivers for comfort and relaxation of cancer patients at home. Faculty include Tracy Walton, MS, LMT, Janet Kahn, PhD, LMT and William Collinge, PhD, LCSW.
